The Weekend Waffle

The Cambridge 105 engineering team crawls out from under the desk to take a turn on the other side of the mic. The team takes a sideways look at the week’s news together with some awesome music and fun features.

Presented by Rob Chipperfield, Mike Hauser, Mark Hickford, Lawrence Micallef, Gavin Nesbitt, Dominic Smith, Mark Turner and Neil Whiteside.

The team are all members of Camb-Hams, made up of the various radio enthusiast groups in the Cambridge area.

John Gannon creates the perfect sound for a Sunday lunchtime with a journey back to the golden decade of the 1960s. From The Beatles to the Stones and Helen Shapiro through to Scott McKenzie the 60s defined a generation.

Cambridge 105 goes analogue as Greg Butler presents two hours of Thursday afternoon entertainment. Every week Greg invites his guests to bring in some of their favourite records and talk about what the music means to them.

Every Sunday from 8.00 Phil Rowe presents three hours of music, news and conversation to ease you into your morning.

There’s a look at the newspaper front pages at 8.20, while a guest reviewer goes inside the headlines at 9.20.

After 10.00 Phil interviews guests from community groups, business and the arts.

Recent guests have included Julian Huppert MP, Richard Howitt MEP, Cambridge mayor Sheila Stuart, Justin King, CEO, Sainsbury’s; Sinéad O’Neill, Artistic Director, Cambridge City Opera, Paul Ainsworth, Branch Officer, CAMRA and adventurer Justin Miles.

It’s all mixed in with a soundtrack of contemporary artists and a few musical surprises.
